Something new from Todd Ackerman
Commit to Making Internet Dollars in 2009!
By the time all of the dismal stats come in from the retail sales for this season, we all will have had our share of food, fun, frolic, and probably some additional Credit Card debt. But many of us out there will also have the same feelings that we had going into this Christmas season, and that is the feeling of having to do more with less money. It’s a feeling that many of us share, but I encourage you to do some things to help you rise above these tough economic times in 2009 through Internet marketing .
For me, I had to make a change in my life in 2007. Not that I necessarily wanted to, but because I “had’ to due to layoffs in the “Corporate World” that I had been a part of for 25 years. Yep…downsizing had hit home! I worked feverishly for 15 months trying to reestablish myself in a market that had shrunk by 60% over the last 5 years in my home area of Denver, Co. Then I realized I had to make a fundamental change, and that change was to go into full time Blogging and start making a full time income on the Internet. Has it been easy? No, and it continues to be a challenge, but nothing worthwhile comes easy. And those who state that generating Internet Dollars is easy are misleading all of us!
Internet marketing is one of the few bastions of wealth that anyone with a PC, determination, and time can establish themselves in, and truly make a difference in their future economic status. The Web continues to explode at a daily rate. Internet marketing methods, although there seem to be a plethora of them are really just some basic spins on the same themes. SEO, content, advertising etc. But my point is that there are so many potential buyers out there that the market is far from saturated. And I believe that it never will be as long as we are a technology driven society. And, to top it all off…anyone with an average mentality can do this!
So here are the changes that I would suggest that those of you who want to make a New Years resolution to get into the Internet marketing business should do:
1. Commit to the change! Decide how many hours you will work this new endeavor, and Do It!…every Day!!!
2. Decide early on through research who you are going to follow as your mentor. Know that there are different categories of mentors out there and you want to find an “Expert” in training…not necessarily the “Guru of the Month” to follow because many of them are not very savvy on the fundamentals of teaching Internet marketing to beginners. My Internet marketing Coach” is Yaro Starak. www.emtrepreuners-journey.com
3. Decide what if any money you want to spend. I actually got launched for less than $600. ($100 in Ebooks on Blogging, SEO and Affiliate Marketing) and $500 for Yaro Starak’s coaching program: www.blogmastermind.com
4. Do not get caught in the trap of “Information Overload” because it can squash all of your desire by drowning you in a “Sea of multiple spins on a few basic and common themes”. This almost got the best of me, and I literally had to stop opening all the emails I was getting from the “Guru’s” and pretty much trust Yaro Starak, Steve Renner www.steverenner.com, Rob Benwell www.bloggingtothebank.com, and Brad Callen seo@seoelite.com. And that’s pretty much it. You’ll learn over time to limit the amount of Internet marketing hype you expose yourself to.
5. Be disciplined with the time you have allocated to work on your new business, and realize that it is “A Business”!. I have a check list that I do every day and it looks like this: A) Write content on my Blog. B) Post comments on others Blogs. C) Work on the current lesson of the www.blogmastermind.com coaching program. D) Troubleshoot any technical issues on my Blog. E) Catch up on reading new articles from my ”Trusted” Internet marketing Guru’s. F) Review any “New” materials that my Guru’s have released. That’s pretty much it, and I spend 8-10 hours a day performing this regimen at least 6 days a week. My goal is to get everything totally optimized so I can put a lot of it on Auto Pilot and begin to reap the huge rewards of this up front time and effort investment.
6. Be patient, and stay in it for the “Long Haul”! Again, it’s not easy, and it will take time…at least 90 days before you will see results of any magnitude.
7. Set “realistic” short, medium and long term goals and track your progress on a monthly basis.
8. Finally, I remember the words of Bob Butwin who is another marketing expert, but specializes in “Social Networking” for Multi Level Marketers…”Do one thing at a time, Do it well, and Finish it!”
I hope that this helps any of you that are wanting to take the plunge into a better life in 2009 by beginning your quest into the very exciting and rewarding world of generating Internet Dollars.P lease continue to stop by as my goal for this Blog will always be to help the beginning Internet marketing students with what I have and will continue to learn and to share it with you.
Success in your journey,
Todd Ackerman
